Co-op room in the Schoolhouse Art & History Center.

Friday Painters Open Paint Sessions

Open to the public, no charge. Join us every Friday morning from 10 AM to noon. Bring your own art supplies and whatever you are working on and join our group. Grab yourself a coffee or tea from Reginald's coffee shop in the building. We help each other, have fun and instruction is available if necessary. Best of all, its FREE to members and non-members! Bring a friend and join in the fun!

 

Figure Drawing Sessions

Come and practice your drawing skills with a live model. The model may be nude or in costume. Figure Drawing Sessions meets every other Wednesday Evenings, 6:30-9 pm. $12 per session. This is not a class but a drawing session. Next sessions are June 15 and 29, July 13 and 27.

Classes

 

Summer Painting with Wendy Mackin

Tuesdays during the summer
at Wendy’s home in Mt. Lebanon
  

10 am - 1 pm

Cost is $15 a class

 

This class will focus on composition, color, and shape making. Oil, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor artists are welcome, and the class is open to students of all levels. Students may work on any subject matter derived from their own photographs or imagination, or may use photos supplied by the instructor.

 

Wendy will supply coffee, and you may bring your lunch. If you plan to attend please email Wendy at  wendy.a.mackin@gmail.com  for directions.

 

 

 

Tole Painting with Jean Benson

Mondays Aug 8 - October 17 (no class on Labor Day)
at the Schoolhouse in the Co-op room
  

1- 3:30 pm

Cost is $15 a class

 

Tole painting is the folk art of decorative painting on tin and wooden utensils, objects and furniture. The subjects are usually flowers and fruit but may be any subject. Jean Benson has been painting and teaching for more than half a century.  At 103 years young she will help you paint on anything from metal trays to wooden boxes although you can paint on canvas too. Jean uses oils however you may use acrylics as well.
